Job Title: SPECIFICATION SALES MANAGER (MIDLANDS) - Mainsboost & Aquaboost Products
Employment Basis: Full Time
Hours of Work: 9.00 am - 5.00 pm Monday -Friday
- 37.5 Hours per Week
- Unpaid overtime will be necessary to complete the duties required

Mainsboost: Patented range of direct on mains products to boost water performance throughout a property, allowing unvented cylinders, etc. and combi boilers to operate at their optimum, and providing the benefit of being able to use multiple outlets and appliances simultaneously. 

Aquaboost: Traditional packaged booster sets, designed specifically to individual customer needs, plus a range of standard and integrated water booster set solutions designed for large domestic and commercial applications.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

This is a strategically important position, focused on creating new business demand, developing our routes to market and generally raising awareness of our full range of water performance solutions. 

We believe that with a dedicated resource and focus, our ambition to substantially grow sales on Mainsboost and Aquaboost solutions, within the next 3 year business plan period, is highly achievable. 

The role holder will need to take full ownership and responsibility for their business area, but can rely on the full support of the Commercial Directors and the entire Sales and Marketing team to support their efforts in establishing these brands as a credible alternative to the competitors that currently operate in these market sectors.


Job Definition

  • Managing and developing accounts within the Building Services, M&E Contracting and Plumbing/Heating Installation markets and the associated merchant markets.
  • Primary function is targeting the M&E contractors and installers, Design/Build and M&E consultants.
  • Meet decision makers to understand their business, the scope of the project, project values and to increase the amount of specified Aquaboost/Mainsboost product via quotation work.
  • Ensure our product range offering is complete and competitive
  • Provide all pre and post sales expertise
  • Create demand and raise awareness via marketing and training
  • Deliver product and system training including CPD's as and when required
  • Create a direct installer/end user network
  • Identify key routes to market and penetrate them
  • Identify new markets and build the necessary partnerships to develop sales growth
  • Lead on bids and contractual negotiations
  • Co-ordination / organisation / participation in exhibitions
  • Provide accurate management reports as relevant and required for communication at the monthly Management Meeting
  • Extensive travel will be required to fulfil the role within the designated sales area.


Person Specification

Skills/qualifications/experience required:

  • Relevant technical sales experience
  • Proven business development experience
  • Proven track record of achieving sales growth
  • Ideally, experience of pumps and/or unvented hot water systems
  • Capability to be a product specialist
  • Able to converse on a commercial and technical level
  • Ideally mechanically qualified (HNC/HND or higher) or equivalent relevant experience
  • Highly developed commercial acumen, coupled with an ability to identify new business initiatives and strengthen existing relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to listen and communicate information clearly and effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with a consultative approach
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Self-motivated and business aware
  • Tenacious and driven by an awareness of the commercial impact of his/her work
  • Ambitious and passionate, with attention to detail
  • Current and clean driving licence


The position will be based predominantly within your sales area, and as and when required at the head office based at Market Place, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, RG9 2AD.  The job holder will be required to live fairly centrally in their area.
