Plumbing students are pumped up after visit from Stuart Turner

Stuart Turner obviously has a vested interest in the plumbing installers of the future and continues to work in partnership with colleges and learning centres across the country to support Level 3 NVQ Domestic Plumbing and Heating students.

This commitment has proven to be a big success and as well as delivering our training module and offering advice on installations and water pressure boosting pumps. We also provide pumps and a series of training aids to help students perform on-site tasks in the classroom. This is a great way for us to help the next generation of installers gain the necessary skills and knowledge and provides us with an opportunity to help secure the future of the industry. But don't take our word for it, read what South Cheshire College had to say…

Plumbing students at South Cheshire College are all systems go after they were visited by a representative from a leading shower pump company.

South Cheshire CollegeRichard Ballard from Stuart Turner Ltd dropped into the College's Crewe campus to tell Level 3 students more about the pumps his company manufactures and how they help to create power in a shower.

This was the latest in a string of visits from industry professionals and helped students with important aspects of their full time Plumbing courses and Plumbing Apprenticeship programmes.

The presentation focused on the choice and application of a range of boosted shower pumps and some of the pumps were demonstration models which featured cut away sections, allowing students to gain a better understanding of working principles.

Richard, who is the Training and Quality Manager for Stuart Turner, also kindly donated a boosted shower pump for students to use in the College plumbing workshop.

Richard said: "I was pleased to be able to speak to students about the range of shower pumps we manufacture and hopefully, they can put some of the information into practice on their course."

Students also benefited from gaining an industry viewpoint in terms of current trends with this aspect of plumbing work.

The College's state-of-the-art plumbing workshop is where students can learn all the practical skills they need for the plumbing trade.

Rob Kerr, Plumbing Lecturer at South Cheshire College, said: "We are very grateful to Richard for taking time out of his busy schedule to come and visit our students.

"It was great for them to hear from an industry professional and see the advances which have been made in shower pump technology.

"We are also delighted with the shower pump which has been donated to us and it will come in very useful for future practical work and demonstrations."
