Project summary
Located between junctions 11 and 12 of the M1, Toddington services has extensive facilities and is one of the busiest motorway services in the UK.
The challenge
The original booster set had been installed in a basement plant room which was subject to frequent flooding. A new booster set was required which could be installed outside at ground level within its own weatherproof enclosure, avoiding use of the problematic plant room.
The solution
To match the capabilities of the original booster set, a new system configuration comprising three multi-stage vertically oriented pumps and a Stuart Turner PCU600 control system was specified. The booster set was supplied within a robust and secure GRP enclosure, complete and ready for installation.
